I'm writing this to thank you for introducing me to the CalPal. It really
works for me.
In mid-January, 2009,
I began using the CalPal to track my calorie intake. In February, I began
aerobic and strength exercises at the local recreation center. The combination
of CalPal and exercise has literally made me a new person. As of today (May
19, 2009), my weight has dropped 45 lbs. (from 265 lbs. to 220 lbs.) in
4-1/2 months; my pant waist size is down from 44 to 36; my shirt size had
dropped from 2XL to Large – collar size from 17.5 in. to 15.5 in.; suit
jacket from 46 to 42; shoe size from 13EEE to 13E.
But, more importantly, I feel healthier, sleep better, have more energy,
look younger and I am able to control my weight. And, I am not done yet…20
pounds to go…I should get there by the 4th of July.
I am 64 years old and have been treated for cardiomyopathy (heart failure)
and atrial fibulation (irregular heart beat) for 5 years. Despite having
these issues under control by meds, in November 2009 my cardiologist warned
me to lose some weight and start exercising or else I could have even more
serious health problems in a couple of years.
It was my wake-up call;
I could do this…I had lost 40 to 50 lbs. 4 or 5 times since I was 40. But
this time, I couldn’t seem to stick with it, losing about 8 lbs before Christmas
and gaining it back by New Years Day. Last week, I saw my cardiologist for
a 6 month follow-up and he couldn’t believe what a change I had made…”I
tell my patients to lose weight and exercise all the time, but most of them
ignore my advice.” He wanted to know how I did it, so I not only told him
about the CalPal, but I gave him one along with your book, “24 Hours to
Burn!” and a Calorie Guide.
The reason CalPal works for me is the KISS principle – it’s simple. No hard
to follow diets; no analyzing/balancing/trading carbs, protein, fats, cholesterol,
etc.; don’t misunderstand me, I try to eat nutritious foods and avoid “junk”,
but my focus is only on limiting and burning calories – BACK TO BASICS!
I keep CalPal in my pocket and the Calorie Guide in my car so I am prepared
to make the right food choices and instantly adjust my calories throughout
the day whether exercising or eating fast food. When I plateau or gain weight,
it is because I haven’t used my CalPal for a few days – so I put in back
in my pocket and I am instantly back on track.
Thanks for helping me to improve the quality of my life. This one little
device has made a huge difference to me.

I truly believe that cal-pal proved to be the missing piece of my
frustrating diet and exercise puzzle. "How could I be working out and
eating right and not be reaching my fitness goals?" I often asked
myself. Once I started using cal-pal, everything came together for me
and I started losing the excess pounds I was having difficulty shedding.
Cal-pal kept me on track, and I quickly learned that too much of any
food (even if it's healthy) will hinder one's progress! Cal-pal is so easy

I do want to let you know that I have lost weight using this device! I have used MyFoodDiary for years and still do - I keep track of everything I eat. But the Cal Pal gave me a new outlook on the calories vs workouts. It's like a game, trying to hit the number of calories that are deficit. I lost the first day, as promised, and have gone down 3 pounds since starting. I'm so excited to have it with me on our trip -- I always lose count when I'm on trips. It's hard to get to a computer to use an online calorie counter when I'm in another country. I'll have Cal Pal with me to keep my eating under control and to make sure I burn calories even when I can't work out.

I had previously been counting calories off and on with the help of a few
calorie counting websites. This was difficult to stick with because if I
was away from my home it was impossible to really have the discipline to
keep track. I'd advise those to go and purchase the Calorie King book also.
The book included with the calpal has very little info data on calories
in food. With this Calpal and the pocket sized Calorie King book I"m
always prepared. Both are very small and discrete and it doesn't have to
be a show that you are watching your food intake. I went to visit family
for a week and was never approached or even noticed on my calorie counting.
Yes I was quiet on this and did not enter in my numbers unless alone - but
I was so impressed that I was able to "vacation" and yet stay
on track. Definitely a good choice. Plus on a added note I accidentally
washed my Calpal for 10 minutes in the washer. Freaked out when the screen
was blank but I followed the advice from a geek website in using Rubbing
alcohol to displace the water and it worked! So be sure to look up this
information just in case you accidently submerge yours in water.

I am a gym rat and work out at least five days per week, but my biggest
hang-up is my diet, or lack thereof. With the Calpal calorie counter, now
I can control the amount of calories I consume. I never realized how many
calories are in fast food. I recommend this product to everyone.

Have been using the calpal for over 2 weeks. Absolutely love it!! Keeps
me on track throughout the day. Only drawback is that it needs a leash similar
to that of a pedometer so I can keep it on my waistband throughout the day.
Highly recommend this product.

I have 4 kids under the age of 4 and have no time to be keeping track of
my calories. With the CalPal, I just stick it in my pocket and type in what
I need every time I eat something. It's so convenient. The instructions
are really easy to follow. It's keeping me aware of what I'm eating and
helping me take those extra pregnancy pounds off!
